This site is not an example of how to build a property rental site. Rather, it tries to show the many different ways that you can use Rentalot Plus to show your availability and prices. Your site should only use a small fraction of what is shown here. The best implementations of Rentalot Plus are the simplest!
If you are new to Joomla, you can start with a single "View", which can show information about your unit(s) and prices, and lead visitors to an enquiry and/or booking form. Later, you can experiment with more views and the plugin, which enables you to build complex layouts merging your own content with various information from Rentalot Plus. Your site can evolve as your knowledge and confidence grows, but we encourage you to keep your site simple and easy for visitors to use and navigate.
Styling
Rentalot Plus comes with a choice of four colour schemes, and if you know a little CSS you can easily make your own. If you know CSS well, you can make more extensive changes, as demonstrated by the "Bubble View" on this site. In most cases you should not need to make any changes to the supplied CSS files. If you find a problem or feel that something doesn't look right, please tell us and let us fix it. We want to make Rentalot Plus as easy to setup as we possibly can.
Multi-Language
Rentalot Plus is fully, natively, multi-language. You do not need any other software to make a multi-language site with Rentalot Plus.
This site is not fully multi-language. It only demonstrates the multi-language capability of Rentalot Plus. We are not fluent in either French or German, so the translations are made with Google and may not be perfect. We have not translated the articles or menu items here. If you build a multi-language site for your business, those things can be translated using the standard multi-language features of Joomla.
The Rentalot Plus translation interface is very easy to use. Everywhere you configure any text, language tabs appear so that you can enter the text in all of your site languages. Rentalot Plus automatically uses the correct translations for the selected site language. It also remembers the site language that is selected when bookings are made, and always sends emails to clients in their chosen language.
Site Templates
Rentalot Plus is a well-behaved Joomla Component. It should work in any well-behaved Joomla Template.
This site uses a very simple Joomla Template, to show you Rentalot Plus in a neutral, "no frills" format. You can download this template if you want to. It's free, comes with a selection of top images, and has easily customisable text and colours. You could use it to get started with your own site and then switch to a different template later.
There are many Joomla Templates to choose from, ranging from free to expensive, and from simple to very complex. Our preference is to keep things simple, but the choice is yours.
Other Extensions
Rentalot Plus should happily work alongside any other well-behaved Joomla extensions. Unfortunately not all Joomla extensions are well-behaved so we can't make any guarantees, but the situation has improved over the years and today we rarely see compatibility problems.
